Finance students recently presented their portfolio investment recommendations to leading financial experts as part of their work with 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 .

The six teams, comprising one principal analyst and several junior analysts, outlined the current investment landscape for their funds, provided recommendations for future investments, and identified current risks aligned with their portfolios. They presented to Chad Delk with JP Morgan Private Bank, Charles Cartwright with Meridian Wealth Management Group and Jacqueline Reeves with Bryn Mawr Trust.

The Student Managed Investment Fund in the College of Business, named the was generously funded with $500,000 at its inception through a $250,000 gift from Dan Davidowitz and Polen Capital Management, LLC (鈥淧olen鈥), and matched by the FAU Foundation.

Through a three-credit-hour investment fund course, business students are chosen through an application process and trained to participate in real-time financial decision-making using real money. By the end of the semester, students pitch new investment ideas to a group of financial professionals.

Since its inception in December 2023, the fund has recorded a time-weighted rate of return of 47.46% and an alpha of three, a testament to the students鈥 research and discipline. The value of the fund currently is $614,580.

The fund seeks to build a diversified portfolio and outperform the S&P 500. Students decide which assets to buy or sell with the assistance of faculty or volunteers from investment firms. By providing students with experiential training in investment portfolio management, the College of Business enhances student placement in competitive internships and positions at large financial institutions.
